Every 6AM WorkShirt is designed to look sharp, move comfortably, and perform through demanding shifts. But fabric preference is personal.

Our Performance fabrics are engineered for frequent wear, stretch, faster drying, and easier care. Cotton is available for customers who prefer a more traditional, natural-fibre feel and don’t mind giving their shirt a little more care.

Both options are designed around the same 6AM philosophy. The difference comes down to how you want your shirt to feel, perform, and care for between shifts.

Choose Performance if…

Performance is our recommended fabric for demanding hospitality environments and frequent wear.

Choose it if you prioritize:

• Faster drying
• Better shape recovery
• Greater wrinkle resistance
• Easy, low-maintenance care
• Durability through frequent washing
• Long-lasting, crisp colors and patterns

It’s the fabric we recommend for long shifts, hot dining rooms, busy bars, and anyone who needs their shirt ready to work as often as they are.

Choose Cotton if…

Choose Cotton if you prefer:

• A higher percentage of natural fibres
  
• Fabric that softens naturally with wear
  

Cotton absorbs more moisture, dries more slowly, and wrinkles more easily than our Performance fabrics. It may require additional ironing or steaming, but some customers simply prefer the way cotton feels.

What do we mean by “Performance Fabric”?

Performance Fabric refers to a family of carefully selected fabrics used throughout the 6AM collection. The exact composition varies by shirt, but every fabric is chosen to balance professional appearance with comfort, movement, durability, and easier care.

Composition:

Original WorkShirts: Black and White, Long Sleeve

Our Men’s and Women’s Original WorkShirts in Black and White use a soft, flexible blend:

• 70% polyester
• 27% bamboo
• 3% spandex

This blend combines polyester’s durability and easier care with added softness and stretch.

All Short-Sleeve, Colored and Patterned WorkShirts

These WorkShirts are available in:

• 100% Performance Polyester
• 100% Cotton

All short-sleeve options, along with our colored and patterned collections, by default use our premium 100% Poly Matty stretch fabric.

Poly Matty is a polyester-based fabric with a subtle textured knit. The Matty construction gives it more dimension than a flat polyester fabric, while its stretch component allows it to move and recover throughout a shift.

It was selected for its:

• Flexibility and shape recovery
• Quick-drying performance
• Textured, professional appearance
• Durability through frequent wear
• Ability to showcase rich colors and detailed patterns

Never-Iron WorkShirts

Our Never-Iron WorkShirts are made from:

• 100% recycled polyester

This fabric was selected for customers who prioritize extremely easy care, wrinkle resistance, and a consistently crisp appearance.
